A Vision for Moderation
We see a world having come into balance; where we, the people, have gleaned the wisdom in refraining from overdoing anything; and where we have garnered the self discipline needed for us to be moderate in all things.
Now, we are no longer gluttonous, no longer gossipy or gullible, no longer obsessed with glitz and glamour, no longer warlike, no longer addicted to anything. Instead, we are more reserved in our speech and actions, and, thus, every part of our world – including our businesses, our governments, our religious institutions, our educational systems, our communications networks, etc. – is reflected back at us as having become sensible again, sane again, tolerant again, and loving again.
In a balanced environment our common human good is revealed to us and our happiness comes sweetly into focus. Such is life in a world where moderation is present.
“The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances.”
