A Vision for Rerouting Our Aggressions
We see a world where all those who are aggressive and war-like by nature now have an abundance of other avenues and arenas in which to express their aggression so as not to involve harming other people in any way whatsoever.
Accordingly, we see more sporting events and games which are non-violent made available, more creative and artistic endeavors which require us to put our mental energies and emotional passions to good use, and more building projects that encourage us to work constructively, instead of destructively.
Now, all people walk this Earth freely and fearlessly because we have implemented a variety of new ways of rerouting our aggressions into positive, purposeful, helpful, fulfilling and enjoyable means for expressing ourselves. Consequently, sanity and safety have returned to their rightful place in our daily experience.
“We find ourselves unable to handle one area and so instead of doing the natural cycle thing and reducing the area we’re trying to handle, we just double the size of the area. That’s the way theta works.
“How many times in your life have you decided, ‘Well, let’s see, I couldn’t handle so-and-so and so-and-so, I guess I’d better handle just a little bit less.’ And then the first doggone thing you know, you couldn’t handle that less! What if you’d said—what if you’d said, ‘All right, now let’s see, I don’t seem to be able to do this. Huh, where’s two of them?’ …
“‘Oh, no,’ you say, ‘no, this isn’t the right road out. This couldn’t be. That’s just more quantity, that’s…’ No, I’m afraid that is the road out.”
“If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat or your house is on fire, you’ve got a problem. Everything else is merely an inconvenience.”
Writer, Robert Fulghum
