A Vision for Kindness in Catastrophe
We have recently been through the most devastating floods in our State’s history and the response from both authorities and ‘ordinary’ people has been extraordinary, amazing, awesome. I’m sending this to you because I am genuinely uplifted and inspired by the efforts of many thousands of people here in Queensland, Australia.
I envision a world where this type of behaviour, where people go out and help each other with no thought of personal gain or reward, is commonplace. We regard it as quite normal to be kind and thoughful to others, to give to those who have less than we do; and, most of all, to remove the word ‘victim’ from our vocabulary and understand that we each travel our own path and all we need is unconditional love from our fellow travellers. I envisage this as our normal state of being.
Thank you, Cathy! Your words are a true inspiration and we are honored to share them here.
